Hoping for Growth

The Gospel for this coming Sunday, Luke 13.1-9, has two parts.  In the first Jesus poses the age-old question, 'Why do bad things happen to good people?'  In the second, he tells a parable of the fruitless fig tree.  It's this parable that offers hope -- God does not give up on us.
