Tri-Parish Picnic at Hume Park

St. Mary's Sapperton and HTC joined together in the cathedral of creation at Hume Park, New Westminster for worship, food, and fellowship.  The Rev. Stephanie Shepard preached on the theme that "everyone is useful" based on Paul's Letter to Philemon.  The worship was followed by a special honouring for Doreen, a St. Mary's parishioner who enjoyed a celebration of her life while she is still with us on earth.  The children of the parishes danced for her, and a special cake was shared.  A potluck feast followed, with many different treats from the cultures of those gathered.  Then Filipino gongs and dancing rounded out the festivities.  Thanks to Padi Arvin, our Regional Dean, for helping to organize.
