Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral in New Westminster is seeking a part-time
Music Director
Commitment: minimum 8 hours per week
Salary: $18,300-$24,000
depending on qualifications and level of experience
based on RCCO guidelines
Additional pay possible based on extra duties performed
In this position you will be responsible for organizing and leading choir rehearsals, performances during regularly scheduled services, and other tasks as required. Although not mandatory, ideally you are a Christian familiar with Anglican liturgy, worship, and musical traditions. You have strong leadership skills but can work collaboratively with the choir, clergy, and members of the congregation. The Music Director will be responsible for choosing hymns that are challenging but manageable for the choir and appeal to both new and longstanding members of the congregation. Musicianship includes the ability to be proficient in playing the piano and pipe organ although other instrumental skills are an asset. Additional work such as wedding, funerals, and extraordinary services will be remunerated based on consultation with the priest in advance of such events.
